Caregiver classes are held on weekday and weekend mornings. Children spend an hour and a half immersed in nature, engaging with peers in a play-focused flow learning environment.
Classes begin by circling up and welcoming each other by name. We then hike to a central area where the teacher offers children a structured whole group activity (ex. painting with nature, making nature faces, creating bird feeders, playing a game), followed by open free play with outdoor tools (ex. buckets, shovels, hammocks, mud kitchen supplies, etc.), snack, and story time. We close class by reflecting on our learning and experiences during class, then hike back to the parking lot.
